I really enjoyed learning about Lucy Orta today, particularly when I found out about how extensive her work is, and how it encompasses so much collaborative effort. It shows that there are many stages within the collaborative framework... from the ideas generation (working with her partner), to the assembly of the many complex garments, with all the consultation and negotiation this must entail, to the arrangement and choreography of the models, and then the documentation of the work... Not to mention the travel to Antarctica and the establishment of a South Polar base, creating nothing less than an international 'world village'...
Don't know about you guys, but it makes me less inclined to complain about my workload! I actually like her designs as well...
