Within our group we were given the collaborative scheme called ‘contents may vary’. This web-based organisation allows unestabished artists the chance to have a ‘voice’ in the art world. Along side a diverse collection of artists, the group is run by art graduates, Alice Bradshaw, Liz Murphy and Richard Shield who offer an invitation for artists to promote their works on an easy accessible high profile. In addition to the site there were other web links such as publish, be damned and temporary art space.
As a group we discussed the collaboration aspect of the schemes. In relation to this concept the main alliance would be the invitation to participate in large exhibitions; and interacting at book fairs which is issued on the publish and be damned links. Overall the websites were insufficient in terms of being clear. Although the site states that they show collectively and individuals works, the layout was confusing and unclear in terms of whose artist work we were actually looking at. However as a positive the publications and distribution is given free of charge. The temporary art space encourages artists to use their space and work together. As a result, this link seems the most sucssesful in relation to a collaborative experience.
