For part of a discussion on collaborative artists and groups we were asked to look at three different groups named contents may vary, publish and be damned and temporary art space.
From researching into the different groups we realised that although they weren't all completely linked with the work they did, they all made themselves recognisable under the name contents may vary. Contents may vary ask artists to submit work which is then added to a publication that is then distributed, although our group understood the idea it was hard to find any information as to whose work we were actually looking at.
Publish and be damned involved a travelling public libary where artist would apply for a stall and then get together to sell and or share their work with the public. It was collaborative in the sense that they were gathering but they weren't creating work as a group. Temporary art space seemed a lot more collaborative based as they actually invite not only artsists but the public to send in work and or visit the Piece Hall in Halifax where they can create work together in the space provided with counts towards a show at the end of the Six months.
