This website-based group offer the opportunity for artists to submit their work and make contacts. It is an invitation for collaboration and promotes artists under the heading of 'contents may vary'. The networking style of the website inter-connects its publications and artist activities such as artist fairs and temporary art spaces. Its main form of advertisement are its publications which are a collaboration of artist's work. These publications and the website, at face value, are unusual and it is difficult to understand their purpose. However, this could be a strength as well as a weakness as it provokes curiosity. The merchandise encourage a branding style image which people can identify with as an 'umberella' for artists to work under and be apart of.
Our group questioned the role of this group with collaboration. The basis of the website is a group of artists collaborating together to form invitations for other artists to collaborate together. It opens opportunities and offers connections. However, the control of collaboration can be questioned. The publications are submitted artworks that are then controlled by others while the art fairs bring artists together but do not neccessarily mean they all work together. The inevitable debate of the differences between participation and collaboration are again raised. 'Contents may vary' just offers an alternative way of looking at what we could consider to be a collaboration.
