The Wonderful North by Bryan and Laura Davies.

Group one were asked to look at the Wonderful North project, when we first looked at the website we were confused. First impressions were that it had models for places but they are in fact, part of the actual artwork, called 'pavilions'.

To help the group understand what the project was about we each took a section to talk about while Jack Scales showed the appropriate section on the website. Quite simply it was Bryan and Laura Davies touring around the North in a camper van for a month, documenting their trip. The 'expo' is a virtual art exhibition that is used to showcase the experiences of the couple as they toured the North looking for popular landmaks. They also collaborated with Numiko their website designers to document their journey.

Collaboration came in the form of suggestions from the public of places to visit. This also went some way to dictate the route they took. This raises the question of how many suggestions were actually taken.

The individual pavilions are very interesting, well made and are labelled 'Geography', 'Culture', 'Economy', 'Society' and 'International'. Each contains twenty exhibits from the artists experience from the trip. When we presented our review of this project we used the website to show our peers around the project. This seemed to work well and was less confusing for the rest of the group. All in all I think that the project was a success but without the virtual artwork it would have been a tour guide for the north
