After looking at Sophie Calle for the group 'researching models' work I realised that I wanted to produce collaborative pieces through correspondence, typically email.
My idea was to email out a brief/theme to friends and peers for them to respond too using their own skills and interpretation. I was slightly stuck as what to issue as a theme....
This is when, following a constructive discussion with Kerry Murray, we decided to collaborate together as our idea's appeared to overlap.
We have now taken a slightly different approach, and as opposed to sending out a brief, we are asking for people to provide us with a brief.
Initially this idea did not take off very well. After posting our email out, inviting people to help us we received very little feedback!
During a further peer discussion I realised that this may have been because of the wording of the email that we sent. It seemed quite daunting and labour intensive to be asked to create a 'full brief'.
I reviewed this, and incorporated some instructions with which people could follow. I asked only for a word, theme or sentence, that Kerry and myself can interpret and work from. This word/theme etc can also be related to their area/field of working.
The idea behind this is that Kerry and I can create an interesting body of work, hopefully with influences from other artistic fields, such as photography, fine art, video etc.
If you have any idea's that could inspire or formulate a project please email me!
