Within the presentation we addressed a few issues to do with the collaborative group consisting of Nina pope and Karen Guthrie, with their piece Bata-Ville. The piece was very regimental and controlled from begging to end, including how the participants were chosen and how the participants spent every minute whilst on the tour. Because of the scale of control over the participants we came to the conclusion that the collaboration didn’t involve the participants, and that they remained people on a tour all the way through. The organisation of the filming went as far as Nina and Karen always been concerned about where they stood in accordance to the camera and each other, to prevent a mirror image between the dresses. Although the viewer of the film could be part of the collaborative strategy as the film takes someone to watch it to make it work. We also looked at the relationship between the factories in the cheque republic and the old workers from England as a strategy; as it was very emotional for some of the participants as it reminded them of their old way of life in which work was more of a social event. Also how the machines and technology has taken this lifestyle away, it also showed how this affected their hobbies.
